How to Save PowerPoint as a Video?

To save a PowerPoint presentation as a video, follow these steps:

For PowerPoint 2010 or later:

  • Open your PowerPoint presentation. Click on the "File" tab in the top-left corner of the PowerPoint window.
  • In the "File" menu, select "Export" from the left-hand panel.
  • Click on "Create a Video" from the options available.
  • In the "Create a Video" section, choose the quality and size of the video using the dropdown menu. You can select from "Presentation Quality," "Internet Quality," or "Low Quality." Under "Seconds spent on each slide," you can set the duration of each slide if you haven't added any custom timings or animations.
  • Click on "Create Video" to proceed. Choose a location to save your video, enter a file name, and choose the video format from the "Save as type" dropdown menu (typically, MP4 or WMV).
  • Click "Save" to start exporting your presentation as a video. The process might take a while, depending on the length and complexity of your presentation.
  • Click "Insert" and go to the media group dropdown menu to insert your exported video.
  • Now play our awesome exported video.

For PowerPoint 2007:

PowerPoint 2007 does not have a built-in feature to save presentations as videos. However, you can use a third-party add-in, such as Leawo PowerPoint to Video Free (, to convert your presentation into a video format.

Alternatively, you can use a screen recording software (like OBS Studio, Camtasia, or Bandicam) to record your presentation as you play it, then save the recording as a video. This method requires you to manually advance slides and manage animations during the recording process.

Please note that saving your PowerPoint presentation as a video may cause some animations, transitions, or other media elements to behave differently or not be included in the final video.
